Job Summary:

The Junior Support Engineer provides technical support, monitors systems, and assists in resolving operational issues for internal users and clients. This role involves troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with various teams to maintain system performance and ensure smooth operations. A foundational understanding of operating systems, SQL Server, and software applications, along with a focus on customer service, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring and Support: Respond to and troubleshoot issues reported by monitoring systems or users promptly; assist in monitoring system performance; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain and update documentation; generate reports on system performance and incidents; document resolutions in the knowledge base.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teams and clients; participate in team meetings; maintain professionalism and a positive attitude.

Skills Required:

  • Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), software applications, and hardware components.
  • Familiarity with SQL, PowerShell, or Python is a plus; willingness to learn advanced skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and attention to detail skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ticketing/help desk systems (JAMS preferred), 1-2 years in support, or recent technical education.
  • Exposure to scripting, automation, networking protocols, and security practices is beneficial.

Work Environment:

  • Fully remote, collaborative, and interactive culture.
  • On-call availability may be required outside regular hours.
