Job summary

Monarch Investment & Management Group offers a 6–14 week Junior Maintenance Apprenticeship in Owensboro, KY and Evansville, IN. You’ll gain real-world, boots-on-the-ground experience in apartment and building maintenance while learning from experienced teams.

Paid at $17–$19 per hour, based on location and background, with tools provided for the program. This is a stepping stone to a skilled-trades career within Monarch's properties.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a trade program, technical school, certification track, or degree program.
• High school students with a strong interest in the trades will be considered.
• Interested in HVAC, building maintenance, or skilled trades.
• Motivated, reliable, and ready to learn.
• Pre-employment screenings include written testing, criminal background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Learn apartment maintenance and building systems.
• Perform unit turns and the apartment make-ready process.
• Gain experience in preventive maintenance and capital planning.
• Work order management and resident service tasks.
• Train on property and safety inspections, OSHA compliance, and software use.

• Apartment and building maintenance
• Unit “turns”, the apartment make-ready process
• Preventive maintenance and capital planning
• Work order management and resident service
• Property and safety inspections
• Shop organization and tool management
• OSHA and safety compliance
• Yardi, Leading Industry Software
• Pool and snow removal operations (where applicable)
• Working with third-party contractors

This is not classroom learning or just watching another but real-world, boots-on-the-ground experience in live communities.

• Tools: Property Maintenance Starter tools to use during the program that you get to keep if you are brought on full time after apprenticeship!

• Location: Available in select Monarch regions nationwide
