Community State Bank is seeking a Junior Mortgage Lender to support the mortgage team in originating residential loans and delivering outstanding customer experiences. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or related field preferred.
  • Banking experience and customer service/relationship management preferred.
  • Loan documentation knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Assist mortgage department staff in providing exceptional customer experience from origination to close.
  • Assist loan officers in interviewing borrowers to analyze financial data and determine financing objectives.
  • Meet with customers during various stages of the loan process.
  • Review residential loan applications for completeness and standards.
  • Validate data and process inputs; order documents and follow up with vendors/third parties.
  • Submit loans to underwriting and manage DU/LP conditions.
  • Support pre-closing steps to ensure on-time closing.
  • Provide proactive communication of loan status to borrowers and staff.

The Jr. Mortgage Lender is responsible for assisting the mortgage loan officers and mortgage department staff to facilitate the origination of residential loan applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist mortgage department staff in ensuring exceptional customer experience from origination to close by providing on-going communication to customers, third parties and staff as necessary.
  • Assist mortgage loan officers in conducting interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advise customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information.
  • Assist mortgage loan officers in meeting with customers as necessary during various stages of the loan process.
  • Assists mortgage department staff in reviewing residential loan applications to verify that application data is complete and meet establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
  • Assist mortgage department staff to ensure integrity of all data and process inputs. Order necessary documents and follow-up with vendors/third parties to obtain in timely manner.
  • Assist mortgage department staff to validate loans in automated underwriting systems including DU or LP and submit to Underwriting in required time frames.
  • Assist mortgage department staff to submit loans to underwriting for conditional review and full approval once all DU conditions have been met and validated.
  • Assist mortgage department staff with reviews of all documents retrieved against those requested, analyzes for accuracy and/or errors.
  • Assist mortgage department staff to ensure on time closing by completing all required pre-closing steps.
  • Assist mortgage department staff in providing proactive communication of loan status to the borrower, Loan Originator, and other involved parties
  • Assists mortgage loan officers in cultivating and establishing contacts with realtors, builders and contractors to enhance market penetration
  • Attends mortgage lending, real estate, and home improvement events to promote the services and products of Community State Bank.
  • Promote CSB as a relationship bank with community focus by being involved in Community projects/activities

Qualification Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Ideal candidate will have banking experience, related educational experience and experience in customer service/relationship management. Loan documentation knowledge is preferred. Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Skills:

Knowledge of real estate and mortgage lending, detail oriented, dependable and organized, with the ability to multi-task and problem solve.

Human Relations:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. This position will have contact with both internal and external customers, requiring strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibility and Decision-Making:

Responsible for meeting deadlines as set forth by management and mortgage department staff.
