Job summary

Shelter Lending Services, a member of the Newrez Family of Companies, is seeking a Mortgage Consultant-in-training. You will gain knowledge through online training and work with Sales Coaches to expand into the Mortgage Consultant role for existing customers and first-home purchases.

Responsibilities include taking loan applications by phone, presenting suitable products, and meeting monthly production goals while maintaining compliance with the Newrez Code of Conduct.

This position is for SHELTER LENDING SERVICES, a member of the Newrez Family of Companies.

POSITION SUMMARY

Gain growth and knowledge of the mortgage industry through on-line training, courses and working with the Sales Coaches. Interact with both sales and Newrez clients to help with the understanding of the mortgage industry and expand into the Mortgage Consultant role as it relates to our existing customers and first home purchase business.

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities Engage with consumers, determine their needs, and offer the appropriate product. Take mortgage loan applications by phone and prepare effective loan proposals. Provide superior customer service. Meet monthly production goals. Stay informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry. Attend/assist with scheduled meetings, training sessions and courses. Maintain compliance with the Newrez Code of Conduct. Performs related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 0-2 years of related experience. Sales experience preferred.

Ability to pass a background check required for state licensing. Persuasive, selling communication skills. Connect quickly with people in an outgoing, friendly manner. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Working on-site at assigned office location. Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership. Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand. Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations. Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time. Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls. Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
