Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep Melville facility and machinery operating safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance, hydraulic servicing, blade replacements, metal fabrication, and general facility upkeep.

The ideal candidate has experience with industrial equipment, welding and blueprints, with strong record-keeping for parts and service and the flexibility to work first shift.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial machinery maintenance and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in welding/metal fabrication and reading blueprints or service manuals.
• Record-keeping ability for parts and service logging.
• Bonus skills: basic carpentry and plumbing or leather-processing machinery.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure proper working order.
• Maintain machinery by cleaning, adjusting parts, and lubricating moving components.
• Change blades on leather guillotines and oil/hydraulic filters as needed.
• Record maintenance and repair services and track materials and parts used.
• Work with purchasing to replenish materials when inventory is low.
• Read manufacturer manuals and blueprints to install new machinery.
• Cut and weld metal pieces to fabricate parts or repair equipment.
• Basic building maintenance, carpentry and plumbing skills are a plus.

We are hiring a hands‑on Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep our facility and machinery operating safely and efficiently. You will handle preventive maintenance, hydraulic servicing, blade replacements, metal fabrication, and general facility upkeep.

salary: $43,000 - $52,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM

education: No Degree Required

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Repair & Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts post-production.
• Hydraulics & Tooling: Perform oil/filter changes on hydraulic equipment and routinely replace leather-splitting guillotine blades.
• Installation & Fabrication: Read blueprints/manuals to install new machinery. Cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate custom parts.
• Inventory & Records: Log all maintenance work and parts used. Work with purchasing to reorder low stock.
• Facility Support: Assist with basic building maintenance.

• Experience: Proven track record in industrial machinery maintenance and hydraulic systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in welding/metal fabrication and reading blueprints or service manuals.
• Organization: Record-keeping ability for parts and service logging.
• Bonus Skills: Basic carpentry and plumbing skills, or experience with leather-processing machinery.

• Maintain machinery and equipment by cleaning them after use, adjusting parts, and lubricating moving components to ensure proper, efficient function.
• Change blades on the guillotines that split the leather and change filters and oils on our hydraulic machines.
• Record all maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.
• Work with purchasing to replenish materials and parts when inventory grows low or is depleted.
• Be able to read manufacturer manuals and blueprints and follow directions when installing newly acquired machinery.
• Cut and weld metal pieces together to fabricate new parts, assemble equipment, or repair broken parts as required.
• Building Maintenance, basic carpentry and plumbing skills a plus.
