Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and valid teaching certification preferred.
• Must obtain fingerprint clearance from the Alabama State Department of Education prior to start date.
• Prior coaching experience required, preferably at the high school level.
• In-depth knowledge of football strategies, techniques, and rules.
• Familiarity with AHSAA rules, policies, and requirements.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support and align with the mission and goals of Dallas County School District
• Develop and lead a comprehensive, competitive football program for high school student-athletes
• Provide instruction, mentorship, and coaching to enhance individual skills and team performance
• Promote sportsmanship, accountability, and team unity among players
• Organize and conduct structured practice sessions focused on skill development, fitness, and game strategy
• Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches to ensure consistent and effective coaching methods
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and overall well-being
• Communicate regularly with parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders regarding program updates and expectations
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and AHSAA regulations and safety protocols
• Participate in professional development activities, including coaching clinics, workshops, and district training sessions
• Perform additional duties as assigned by school and district leadership

Physical Requirements
