Job summary

Texas Sterling Construction is seeking a Junior Estimator in San Antonio, TX to gain experience in heavy civil estimating, quantity takeoffs, CAD, and BIM modeling. You will work with the estimating team to prepare accurate bids and support drafting and modeling efforts for bid packages.

Ideal candidates have basic construction understanding and a drive to develop estimating and BIM skills with opportunities to advance within the organization.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or similar software preferred.
• Basic understanding of construction plans, design, and engineering principles.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Experience or interest in quantity takeoffs and construction estimating.
• Desire to build a long-term career in heavy civil construction estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimators with quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, and bid submissions.
• Review construction plans, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in assembling and cross-checking bidding documents.
• Provide CAD drafting, BIM modeling, and takeoff support.
• Prepare site plans, grading, elevations, and other construction drawings.
• Create and maintain SketchUp and Revit models.
• Prepare materials for estimating meetings and presentations.
• Collaborate with estimators and project teams to complete tasks.
• Help ensure drawings meet company standards and bid deadlines.

Job description

Texas Sterling Construction is looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their construction career who wants to build their experience in heavy civil estimating, quantity takeoffs, CAD, and BIM modeling.

The Junior Estimator will work closely with our estimating team and assist with the preparation of accurate and competitive bids for heavy civil construction projects. This position will be heavily involved in quantity takeoffs and estimating, while also providing CAD drafting and BIM modeling support.

What You'll Do

• Assist estimators with quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, and bid submissions

Position Requirements

What We're Looking For
