Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Designer to support planning and design of electrical infrastructure for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities. You will create 2D CAD drawings, review documentation, and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.

The role requires an Electrical Engineering degree (preferred) and 3+ years of design experience, with NEC familiarity. Onsite position in Cedar Park, TX with a contract-to-hire path and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree preferred and NEC familiarity required
• 3+ years of design experience in electric utility, generation, substation, transmission, or distribution projects (All backgrounds considered)
• Power and Controls experience
• Be able to create electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, power distribution systems, lighting, and grounding designs.
• Be able to perform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, arc flash, and conduit/cable sizing calculations.
• Be able to select and specify transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and relay protection systems.
• Develop construction documents and 2D/3D models.
• Assist with responsess for RFI and a timely manner for customer inquiries.

Position Summary

An Electrical Designer supports the planning and design of electrical infrastructure based on client requests for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate under the direction of senior designers, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed.


• Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate complexity.


• Review drawings, and vendor equipment documentation of basic to moderate complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seek discrepancy resolution.


• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.


• Other duties as assigned.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Park, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
