Job summary

DC International is seeking a Junior Operations Developer who has finished school and can show real code. You’ll join a small backend team supporting ecommerce brands, handling order processing, warehouse operations, ERP and CRM integrations, and internal automation.

You’ll be paired with a senior developer, receive real tickets from day one, and grow into owning your own work while learning how software runs a business, not just passing tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent portfolio.
• Working knowledge of at least one object-oriented language (C# strongly preferred).
• Basic SQL and ability to explain queries.
• Familiarity with Git fundamentals.
• Willingness to read existing code before making changes.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Coachable and self-motivated, with curiosity to learn.

Responsibilities

• Learn, maintain, and fix existing C#/.NET applications under guidance.
• Write and modify SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
• Build small features and background jobs from clear specifications.

Level: Entry, Job Location: Carrollton, TX - CARROLLTON, TX 75010, Job Category: Information Technology, This is a fully remote position; however, you must live in Texas, Iowa or Tennessee.

WORK SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

This is a remote position requiring full-time availability from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Central Time. Team members are expected to be online, responsive, and on video for meetings. The role also includes 4 onsite weeks annually (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct) in Carrollton, Texas. This position is only open to candidates living in Texas, Iowa, or Tennessee.

POSITION OVERVIEW

DC International is looking for a Junior Operations Developer who is finishing (or has recently finished) school, has real code to show for it, and wants to learn how software runs a business — not just how it passes a test suite. You’ll join a small backend team supporting the systems that run two ecommerce brands: order processing, warehouse operations, ERP and CRM integrations, and internal automation.

We don’t expect years of professional experience. We do expect curiosity, the discipline to read code before changing it, and the drive to ask good questions and then go find the answers. You’ll be paired with a senior developer, given real tickets from day one, and grow into owning your own work.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• In your first 90 days: set up your environment, navigate the codebase with guidance, and ship your first small, well-tested fixes to production
• By six months: pick up small enhancements and bug fixes from the backlog and deliver them with a code review, not hand-holding
• By one year: own a small area of the system and be the person others ask about it
• Throughout: ask questions early, write down what you learn, and communicate clearly about what’s done, what’s blocked, and what you don’t know yet

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Application & Backend Development

• Learn, maintain, and fix existing C#/.NET applications under the guidance of senior developers
• Write and modify SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
• Build small features and background jobs from clear specifications
• Assist with Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Automate flows

Integration & Automation

• Test and troubleshoot internal and third-party API integrations
• Use Postman to explore and validate API behavior
• Help build automation that removes manual work from operations teams

DevOps & Code Management

• Work in Git: branch, commit, open pull requests, and respond to review feedback
• Use Visual Studio and VS Code day to day
• Learn how our CI/CD pipelines deploy and monitor changes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an associate degree or coding bootcamp completion plus a portfolio of work you can walk us through (class projects, capstone, internship, personal projects, open-source contributions)
• Working knowledge of at least one object-oriented language (C# strongly preferred; Java or similar acceptable) and a genuine interest in the Microsoft stack
• Basic SQL: you can write a SELECT with joins and explain what it does
• Familiarity with Git fundamentals
• Willingness to read existing code and understand it before changing it
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Coachable, self-motivated, and comfortable saying “I don’t know yet, but I’ll find out”

NICE TO HAVE

• Internship, co-op, or part-time development experience
• Exposure to .NET, ASP.NET Core, or Entity Framework
• Exposure to REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP basics
• Any exposure to ERP, CRM, warehouse, or ecommerce systems
• Coursework or projects involving databases, automation, or system integration
