Job Description

The Junior Declassification Review Analyst will work at a client site in Springfield, VA to support government clients on a team of Declassification Review Analysts. The analyst will provide initial declassification review recommendations to a Senior Analyst, with final determinations made by a Government Declassification Review Analyst. Placement will be based on operational need within the Automatic Declassification Review (ADR), Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR), or Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) Review Teams. The role requires completion of a paid 2‑week Declassification certification training at the Springfield, VA worksite, passing two exams for continued employment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial declassification reviews in support of Government agencies.
  • Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action needed in accordance with E.O. 13526.
  • Demonstrate understanding of classification markings.
  • Utilize analytical skills to make recommendations on documents for release, referral to other agencies, or exemption from automatic declassification.
  • Recognize possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information.
  • Properly handle boxes and documents (boxes can weigh between 15–25 lbs.) and ensure integrity of each box remains intact.

Physical Demands
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, handle, feel objects, and write.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, carry, stoop, kneel, and climb.
Compensation

Hiring salary range: $60,000–$66,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and market data.
