Junior Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will assist our estimator and project manager in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in estimation while gaining experience in construction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare estimates.
2. Assist in determining project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
3. Obtain and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
4. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop an estimate using the Francis Construction standard spreadsheet.
5. Submit the prepared proposals to GC or client.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or Construction Technology Management.
2. Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
3. Proficiency in Bluebeam, Plan Swift, and Microsoft Excel.
4. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
7. Prior experience or internships in estimating or a related field is required, preferably 2-4 years.
