K&L Microwave LLC in Salisbury, MD, seeks a Purchasing/Procurement Specialist to manage PO processing, supplier relations, and inventory control within a Kanban and just-in-time framework.
You will develop and maintain supplier databases, track specifications and pricing, negotiate terms, and ensure on-time delivery while optimizing total cost. Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 is a plus.

Places purchase orders through procurement process and using kanban systems. Expedites deliveries and conducts follow up procedures. Maintains and develops purchasing, inventory and capital equipment tracking systems. Develops, implements and maintains database of specifications, suppliers, products and services. Organizes and controls materials to ensure minimum amounts are maintained to obtain most cost efficient method of storage. Interacts with appropriate departments on current and projected material inventories and establish restock level and just-in-time strategies. Negotiates and verifies pricing and quotes based on total cost. Manages suppliers to ensure on-time-delivery, receipt of quality products, and competitive pricing.
Identify trends and suppliers as required. Ensure PO's are accurate and confer with other departments to verify orders. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comply with Company and purchasing policies and procedures and act within limits of delegated authority. Prepare purchase orders, control prices and quality and ensure delivery of materials and equipment to meet objectives.
Associated degree or comparable work experience. Must have good communication skills with the ability to guide and direct customers or suppliers; both in writing and orally. Computer skills with some familiarity of working with a computerized purchasing and inventory systems applications. Familiarity with ISO and AS9100 standards and requirements.
Pay Range: USD 22 - 25 Hourly
This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
