Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 2–4 years of hands-on industrial automation or manufacturing experience.
• Practical PLC programming and troubleshooting experience with Siemens or AB.
• Experience with automated production equipment and electrical control systems.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain PLC systems (Siemens/AB).
• Diagnose equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Write and modify PLC logic to improve performance.
• Troubleshoot HMI/SCADA systems and support operation.

Job description

The Jr. Automation Engineer role is hands-on, focused on programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial automation and control systems in a heavy manufacturing environment. This person works directly on the plant floor with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to diagnose equipment issues, resolve control system problems, and improve equipment reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting machinery, writing and modifying PLC programs, and finding practical solutions that keep production running.

Responsibilities

Program, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain PLC systems, preferably Siemens and Allen-Bradley.

Diagnose industrial equipment issues involving automation systems, electrical controls, sensors, and drives to minimize downtime.

Write and modify PLC logic to resolve equipment problems and improve machine performance.

Troubleshoot and modify HMI/SCADA systems to support equipment operation and monitoring.

Work directly with maintenance and production teams to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions.

Support equipment installations, controls upgrades, startup, and commissioning.

Read electrical schematics and document control system changes and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

2–4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing.

Practical PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley.

Experience with industrial machinery, automated production equipment, and electrical control systems.
