Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an enthusiastic Jr Architectural Drafter to transform strong Revit skills into hands-on project experience on-site in Norman, OK. You will closely partner with experienced architects to convert concepts, sketches, and markups into polished construction documents.

The role focuses on accurate modeling, coordination, and production drawing sets, with opportunities to learn across commercial and institutional projects in a collaborative, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or comparable hands-on experience in architectural drafting/CAD/building design technology.
• Strong Revit production modeling and sheet creation skills.
• Reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience with basic construction assemblies and dimensioning conventions.
• Familiarity with building codes and accessibility concepts is a plus.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu or Navisworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build coordinated Revit model components and translate markups into drawing sets.
• Create plans, elevations, sections, and details with proper views, scales, annotations, and sheet organization.
• Apply redlines from leadership and move production work against deadlines.
• Maintain drawing indexes, title blocks, and organized documentation through issue cycles.

Jr Architectural Drafter

Location: Norman, OK, On-site

Our client is seeking an early-career architectural drafting professional who is ready to turn strong Revit skills into meaningful project experience. This is a hands-on production role where you will help transform architectural concepts, sketches, and markups into coordinated models and polished construction documents. You will work closely with experienced architectural professionals, gain exposure to varied building projects, and continue developing your technical capabilities in a collaborative, on-site environment.

• Maintain drawing indexes, title block information, and organized documentation throughout each issue cycle.
• Support a reusable detail library and tailor established details to specific project conditions with guidance.
• Generate basic schedules and quantity information directly from building models.
• Prepare drawing packages for digital and printed distribution, including PDF issue sets.
• Help keep BIM files healthy through disciplined naming, warning review, cleanup, and workset practices.
• Coordinate legacy CAD information and consultant backgrounds using AutoCAD when needed.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and building systems documents to support accurate drafting and coordination.
• Work within established standards while developing stronger production judgment across commercial and institutional projects.

Skill Set:

• Demonstrated proficiency in Revit Architecture, including independent modeling and sheet production.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for legacy files and consultant coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, with an understanding of basic construction assemblies and dimensioning conventions.
• Associate degree, technical certificate, or comparable hands-on experience in architectural drafting, CAD, or building design technology.
• Exposure to building code and accessibility concepts, tested assemblies, or common wall type conventions is beneficial.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu or model coordination tools such as Navisworks is a plus.
• Prior drafting experience supporting commercial, education, healthcare, or other institutional building projects is helpful.
• Detail-oriented approach, strong follow-through, and comfort receiving production direction from architects and project leads.
• Interest in growing technical drafting and BIM skills within a collaborative architecture environment.
