Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an Architectural Designer to join a collaborative team in Norman, OK. This on-site role offers hands-on experience from early design through construction documentation, mentorship toward licensure, and opportunities to contribute across multiple project stages.

You will develop design studies, create renderings and client graphics, assist with drawing set preparation, and engage with zoning and building code considerations as you grow toward licensure.

Qualifications

  • Professional architecture degree from NAAB-accredited program (B.Arch/M.Arch) or four-year B.S. in Architecture.
  • Enrolled in or eligible for Architectural Experience Program (AXP).
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Strong graphic presentation and verbal communication; portfolio demonstrates design capabilities.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion is beneficial.
  • Prior internship experience with an architectural practice is preferred.
  • Progress toward ARE is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop early-stage design studies exploring planning alternatives, building form, circulation, and spaces.
  • Translate design ideas into renderings, diagrams, material presentations, and client-facing graphics.
  • Contribute to the preparation and coordination of drawing sets and construction documentation.
  • Investigate materials, products, systems, zoning requirements, and code considerations for informed decisions.
  • Conduct initial reviews of zoning and building regulations and document findings for licensed team members.
  • Support project coordination by recording key meeting discussions and maintaining project information.
  • Continue building professional competencies through AXP participation and ARE preparation.

Architectural Designer

Location: On-site in Norman, OK

Our client is seeking an Architectural Designer to join a collaborative architecture team where emerging professionals can build meaningful project experience while progressing toward licensure. This is an opportunity to contribute to projects from early design exploration through construction documentation, strengthen both creative and technical capabilities, and learn alongside experienced architectural professionals. The position is on-site in Norman, Oklahoma and is well suited for a motivated designer who wants hands-on exposure, mentorship, and room to grow within the profession.

  • Continue building professional competencies through active participation in AXP and ongoing preparation for the ARE.

Skill Set:

  • Professional architecture degree, including a B.Arch or M.Arch from a NAAB-accredited program. Candidates with a four-year pre-professional B.S. in Architecture will also be considered.
  • Enrolled in or eligible to participate in the Architectural Experience Program (AXP).
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong graphic presentation and verbal communication abilities, with a portfolio demonstrating design capabilities.
  • Familiarity with visualization and modeling platforms such as Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, or Twinmotion is beneficial.
  • Prior internship experience with an architectural practice is preferred.
  • Previous progress toward ARE divisions is a plus.
  • Organized, detail-oriented approach with an interest in developing both creative and technical architectural expertise.
