Jefferson Parish's JPAWS division seeks an Administrative Clerk to perform routine to moderately complex clerical duties. You will input data into PetPoint, assist with transport documents, update Petfinder, and create daily feel-good lists; provide exceptional service to rescues, partners, and fosters.
The role supports transport operations and records management. Must meet education/experience criteria and maintain accurate information for credit.
Under general supervision of JPAWS Division Supervisor-Transport Coordinator, the purpose of the position is to perform routine to moderately complex, independent clerical duties, including the performance of minor administrative functions. For the current vacancy, the employee is responsible for inputting accurate data into animal inventory system (i.e., PetPoint), assisting supervisor with preparing or gathering transport documentation, updating Petfinder, and creating daily feel-good list. Provides superior customer service to Transfer or Rescue Partners. Offers pre and post rescue placement support throughout the placement process. Assists with coordinating transport program operations including but not limited to animal selection, travel logistics, records management, supply management, and vehicle management. Assists with delivering excellent customer service to rescues, fosters and transfer partners by gathering information to match them with appropriate animals. Assists with preparing daily stray reports for departmental social media pages. Adds new and available animals to Petfinder on a weekly basis; outcomes animals in Petfinder. Performs related work as directed. This position is an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or their designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.
