Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking an apprentice-level lineworker to perform duties in the operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems. You will construct and maintain overhead and underground lines, inspect equipment, report hazards, lead safety initiatives, and assist in training others.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, completion of the DOL Journeyworker program, and a Texas Class A CDL with driving record meeting PEC

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• DOL Journeyworker program completed.
• Valid Texas Class A CDL with MVR per PEC policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems.
• Construct and maintain overhead and underground lines and equipment.
• Inspect power lines and substation equipment; report hazards.
• Lead safety meetings and adhere to safety regulations.
• Train and mentor apprentices; supervise subordinates in absence of supervisor.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure efficient work and cost controls.
