Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse is seeking a Journeys Support Specialist to plan, promote, and coordinate activities for Wisconsin families affected by adoption or out-of-home care. The role covers Madison and surrounding counties, with some evenings/weekends for family events and travel within the region.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with a regular travel requirement and a salary range of $22–28 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Background in adoption, foster/kinship care, or family services preferred.
• Two years of experience or relevant knowledge in the area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate family fun events, support groups, and networking opportunities for caregivers and youth.
• Coordinate extensive outreach to community organizations and resources in the southern Wisconsin region.
• Provide support and referrals to individuals and families impacted by adoption or out-of-home care.
• Occasional evenings and weekends for family events (about twice per month).

Job description

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse is hiring a Journeys Support Specialist to serve the southern region of Wisconsin (Madison and surrounding counties). This position will be responsible for planning, promoting, and coordinating activities and services for Wisconsin families impacted by adoption or out-of-home care, in accordance with program contracts. Responsibilities include organization and facilitation of family fun events, support groups, and/or networking opportunities for both caregivers and youth; extensive outreach to relevant community organizations and resources throughout the region; and provision of support and referrals to individuals and families. Some evenings and weekends will be required for family events (about twice/month, on average). This is a 20 hours/week hybrid position with regular travel and outreach throughout the region required. The beginning salary is expected to range between $22-28/hour, but will vary based on education and years of experience. Background check, driver’s license, reliable transportation, driving record check, and proof of auto insurance are required for this position.
