Job summary

Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin seeks a Family Support Specialist for our Healthy Families program based in Green Bay. This full-time role focuses on building trusting relationships with families, delivering culturally competent, strength-based, family-centered support.

You will assess needs, develop Individual Family Support Plans, assist with parenting, safety, and health education, and coordinate community resources. A valid driver\'s license is required.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Infant Mental Health Endorsement
• Required: 0-2 years' experience in the field of early childhood education, maternal-child health, family life education, home visitation, social work, counseling or related human service field.
• Preferred: 2+ years home visitation experience
• Preferred: bilingual (Spanish/English)

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain regular contact with assigned families, primarily in their home.
• Manage an active caseload of families. Complete family assessments and develop and implement Individual Family Support Plans based on family needs and preferences.
• Provide assistance to families to increase competency in positive parent-child interaction, home environment, safety, nutrition, child growth and development, and child health care.
• Develop and maintain necessary relationships in the community to execute responsibilities to assigned families and promote goals and objectives.
• Provide transportation for program participants related to family needs.

We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team. This full-time position works in our Healthy Families program and is responsible for establishing trusting relationships with overburdened families by delivering service that is culturally competent, strength-based, family centered, and family directed.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to assimilate and conceptualize individual client desires and needs into detailed written case plans. These duties require advanced interpersonal skills and knowledge of programs and community resources.
• Experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
• An ability to establish trusting relationships.
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule to meet client needs, which may include evenings.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle for transporting persons served as needed. Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements.
