Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hospital Authority seeks a journeyman level maintenance technician to repair and maintain facilities across MUSC Medical Centers. Responsibilities include using power and hand tools, performing a range of preventive and corrective tasks, and adhering to established trade practices.

Work is essential during disaster response. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and two years of hospital maintenance experience;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years maintenance experience in a hospital or diversified building maintenance.
• Technical or Trade School in HVAC, electrical, electronics related to industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
• Electrical and mechanical experience preferred; ability to work across carpentry, plumbing, electrical fields.
• May require overtime or irregular hours; works indoors and outdoors; may be exposed to hazards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair buildings and facilities across MUHA campuses.
• Use power and hand tools to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Diagnose equipment problems and implement solutions across multiple trades.
• Work assignments originate from Hospital Help Desk, FSC, Maintenance Manager or Supervisor and are supervised.
