Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a journeyman level technician for maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities across the Medical Center campuses. The role involves using power and hand tools to support zone-based corrective maintenance and repairs, following established trade practices and instructions.

Work is performed during peak and non-peak hours with supervision by the Hospital Help Desk, FSC, Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years maintenance experience in a hospital, or diversified building maintenance, or construction.
• Technical or Trade School in HVAC, electrical, electronics related to industrial maintenance or other related field preferred.
• Electrical and mechanical experience preferred.
• Must have ability to work different fields of maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.), and to diagnose equipment problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair buildings and facilities across MUSC campuses.
• Use power and hand tools; diagnose and fix equipment problems.
• Work under supervision from the Hospital Help Desk, FSC, Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.
• May require working overtime or irregular hours; indoor and outdoor environments.
