Job description

Job Requirements
  • Operation and set-up of all types of machines in the Tool Room, including manual and CNC machines, Wire EDM, and Esprit CAD CAM software.
  • Interpret verbal/written instructions and blueprints/specifications.
  • Perform grinding duties as needed.
  • Use measuring equipment and toolmaker tools: micrometers, calipers, 6" scale, protractor/square, accuracy blocks, toolbox.
  • Routine maintenance of machines (oiling).
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the department.
  • Train other personnel on machine operation and process.
  • All work subject to final inspection; hold tolerances to .0005 or better when required.

Qualifications
  • Two‑year certificate from college or technical school, or 1.5–2.5 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence and present information to customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, percent; draw/interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense to written or oral instructions; handle problems with few variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands

The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and a generally loud noise level.
