Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Tool and Die Maker Journeyperson to perform precision mechanical work across automated and conveyor systems. You will read blueprints, set up CNC tools, and ensure quality with precision measurements.

This onsite role requires a minimum of six years in a mechanical trade or a relevant DOL certificate, and offers competitive hourly compensation with full GM benefits. Willingness to work varied shifts and undergo background checks is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of related experience in a Mechanical trade or a related DOL certificate.
• Must pass GM hiring process including comprehensive assessments, drug testing and background check
• Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• No immigration sponsorship provided for this role

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA standards and company procedures for safety
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, and repair piping systems
• Operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) to shape parts
• Read blueprints for conveyors, robots, and automation systems
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other mobile equipment
• Plan operation sequences and verify dimensions with precision instruments
