Job summary

AUTOKINITON in Elkton, MI is seeking a Tool & Die professional to join the team on a full-time, hourly basis. Plan setup and operation of machine shop tools, considering materials, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and feeds.

Ideal candidates have a Tool & Die Journeyman credential or 8 years equivalent, good written and verbal communication and experience in metal stamping/manufacturing. Relocation is available; company offers competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds
• Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials including tool steels.
• Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining
• Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
• Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same
• Tear down, repairs and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required

This full-time hourly role is a part of our Tool and Die Team and reports to the Tool Room Supervisor.
