Job summary

Cook County Government seeks a skilled Steamfitter to lay out, fabricate, install and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating and HVAC applications across county facilities.

Under the Steamfitter Foreman, you will inspect sites, plan installations to avoid obstructions, and travel countywide as required. A journeyman apprenticeship or five years’ experience is required, plus a welding certification and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Steamfitter Apprenticeship OR five years’ experience as a Steamfitter.
• Valid Pipe Welding certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems and related equipment.
• Inspect sites and plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions.
• Travel as needed across Cook County for assignments.
