Job summary

Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electric is seeking an experienced Journeyman Plumber in Massachusetts to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential plumbing systems. You’ll fix water heaters, fixtures, and drainage, explain options to homeowners, and ensure work meets code standards.

With a Massachusetts Journeyman license and at least 3 years in the field, you will handle multiple service calls, maintain documentation, and contribute to a clean, professional job site.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber license in good standing.
• At least 3 years of residential plumbing service experience.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving residential plumbing issues independently.
• Experience repairing and replacing water heaters and plumbing fixtures.
• Proficiency with copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, and other common residential piping materials.
• Strong knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential plumbing systems.

• Identify plumbing issues and determine the most effective repair or replacement solutions.

• Recommend appropriate repairs, upgrades, and additional services based on customer needs.
• Complete repairs and installations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Massachusetts plumbing codes and industry standards.
• Manage multiple service calls while maintaining excellent workmanship and minimizing callbacks.
• Maintain accurate service notes, job documentation, and customer records using ServiceTitan or similar software.
• Keep your company vehicle, tools, and work area clean and organized.
• Build strong customer relationships through professionalism, clear communication, and dependable service.
• Collaborate with the team and help mentor apprentices or junior plumbers when needed.

What You’ll Do

Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential plumbing systems.

Repair and replace water heaters, plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets, water supply lines, drainage systems, sump pumps, and other residential plumbing components.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

Active Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber (PJ) license in good standing.

At least 3 years of residential plumbing service experience, preferably after obtaining journeyman licensure.

Proven experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving residential plumbing issues independently.

Experience repairing and replacing water heaters, plumbing fixtures, water supply lines, and drainage systems.

Proficiency with copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, and other common residential piping materials.

Strong knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes, safety requirements, and industry best practices.

Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain findings and present repair or replacement options.

Ability to manage multiple service calls efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation, and a commitment to minimizing callbacks.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Experience

Experience with flat-rate pricing, estimates, and presenting multiple repair or replacement options.

Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar field service software.

Experience identifying additional plumbing needs and recommending appropriate solutions.

Strong sales and relationship-building skills without relying on high-pressure tactics.

Experience with drain cleaning equipment, sewer cameras, and hydro jetting.

Experience mentoring apprentices or junior plumbers.

A track record of strong productivity, quality repairs, and completing multiple service calls per day.
