Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Plumber II for general supervision in installation, maintenance, and repair of district plumbing systems. The role supports the Maintenance & Operations Supervisor II, with responsibilities including responding to emergencies and reviewing blueprints for new construction.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years commercial or 5 years residential plumbing experience, and Mecklenburg County Journeyman's plumber certification or

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with additional specialized/technical training or some college courses required.
Minimum of three (3) years commercial or five (5) years residential related experience in the plumbing field required.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
Maintain all plumbing systems within CMS according to code requirements; collaborate with local authorities.
Respond to broken and clogged sewer and drain lines; inspect grease traps and pumps.
Plan daily activities, complete paperwork, and stock inventory; manage weekly work order backlog.
Act as team leader by training, coaching and scheduling hours of employees.
