Austin Industrial in Freeport, TX, is seeking a Scaffold Builder Journeyman to construct, assemble, maintain and dismantle tubular scaffolding and related structures. A minimum of 3 years in scaffolding is required, with emphasis on safety and precise workmanship.

The role demands adherence to OSHA rules, teamwork, and effective communication. On-site work with physical demands up to 50 pounds, in a merit shop setting with employee ownership and long-time industry presence.

Formación

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in scaffolding.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.

Responsabilidades

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
