Job summary

Austin Industrial in McIntosh, Alabama seeks an experienced Scaffold Carpenter to construct, assemble, and dismantle tubular scaffolding. This on-site role requires OSHA-compliant practices and strict safety adherence to support industrial maintenance and construction projects.

The selected candidate will perform duties from determining scaffold type to final inspection, with 3+ years of industrial scaffold experience, and must pass drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
• Read safety procedures and follow company policies.

Responsibilities

• Must be a Journeyman Scaffold Builder with at least 3 years of industrial experience.
• Determine scaffold type needed and prepare site.
• Inspect scaffold materials for defects and hazards.
• Communicate safety hazards and mitigate risks before construction.
• Transport and erect tubular scaffolding to required dimensions.
• Hoist scaffold components securely and position them.
• Secure scaffold to structures for added stability.
• Follow OSHA, site and Austin Industrial safety rules.
• Perform final inspection of scaffolding.
• Dismantle scaffolding when instructed and store materials.
• Wear PPE as required and work in varied positions.
• Maintain mobility, balance, and safe operation at heights.
• Other duties as assigned.
