Job summary

Comfort Heating, Cooling, Electrical & Plumbing seeks a Journeyman Electrician for residential installations across the Inland Northwest (Post Falls, ID). The role focuses on upgrading service panels, wiring HVAC circuits, generators, and EV charging stations, with a consistent Monday–Friday day shift.

You will work directly with homeowners and our HVAC team to deliver code-compliant, neat installations and clear status updates.

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman Electrician License in Washington or Idaho (reciprocity possible).
• Experience in residential electrical installations, especially panel upgrades, generator interlocks, HVAC hookups, and EV chargers.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Strong understanding of load calculations, NEC codes, and circuit sizing for heavy loads.
• Professional demeanor and clear communication with homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Panel & service upgrades: swaps, subpanels, and service upgrades (100A/200A/400A).
• HVAC circuit wiring for heat pumps, ACs, furnaces, and dual-fuel systems.
• Generator installations: transfer switches, power inlet boxes, interlocks.
• EV charging: install Level 2 chargers and load management devices.
• Code compliance & inspections: load calculations, NEC compliance, prepare for inspections.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Base Compensation: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour (DOE) + Performance Spiffs

Service Area: Inland Northwest (Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, ID | Spokane, WA)

As our residential installation department expands, we are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician specializing in residential electrical equipment upgrades and high-demand circuit installations.

Position Overview

In this role, you will lead high-demand residential electrical installations across our service area. Your primary focus will be upgrading residential service panels, wiring dedicated electrical circuits for heating and cooling systems, installing backup generator transfer switches, and setting up EV charging stations. You will work directly with homeowners and alongside our HVAC installation teams to ensure clean, code-compliant, high-grade installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Panel & Service Upgrades: Perform complete residential panel swaps, subpanel additions, and service entrance upgrades (100A, 200A, and 400A systems).

• HVAC Circuit Wiring: Safely size, run, and connect high-voltage electrical circuits and disconnects for heat pumps, air conditioners, electric furnaces, and dual-fuel HVAC systems.

• Generator Installations: Install manual transfer switches, automatic transfer switches (ATS), power inlet boxes, and interlocks for standby and portable residential generators.

• EV Charging Stations: Calculate load capacity, run dedicated lines, and install Level 2 EV chargers and smart load management devices.

• Code Compliance & Inspections: Conduct load calculations, ensure all work meets local and NEC codes, and prepare installations for municipal inspection.

• Quality & Communication: Execute neat conduit runs and clean wire management while keeping homeowners updated on installation progress.

Candidate Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Licensing: Active Journeyman Electrician License in Washington or Idaho (with willingness to reciprocate).

• Target Experience: Specific experience in residential electrical installations, specifically panel upgrades, generator interlocks, HVAC electrical hookups, and EV chargers.

• Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of residential load calculations, NEC codes, and circuit sizing for heavy electrical loads.

• Customer Service: Professional demeanor, high attention to installation aesthetic, and clear communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience focused on residential upgrades and replacement work.

• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or technical program.

• Insurable driving record.

• Standard electrician hand tools required for residential installation work.

Benefits & Compensation

• Pay Range: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour starting rate + performance spiffs.

• Work Schedule: Fixed day-shift (Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM; no night shift).
