Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking a Plumber for the Health Sciences Center to perform journeyman pipefitting, steam fitting, maintenance, installation, and repair work under supervision of the HSC Plumbing Shop Manager and Lead. Core hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years' experience in maintenance and repair of piping and/or steam distribution system.
• Associate degree in plumbing or completion of a 2-year accredited vocational plumbing program.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and specifications; requisition parts and materials.
• Install, maintain, repair steam distribution systems up to 250 PSI.
• Maintain piping, coils and heat exchangers in plumbing systems.
• Ensure safety and proper use of PPE and tools.
• Move and assemble piping and fixtures; leave work areas neat and orderly.
