Job summary

Walmart Lafayette seeks a skilled maintenance technician to support facility operations in Lafayette, LA. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair facilities and equipment, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

The role includes on-call coverage approximately every 4–6 weeks, operating diverse machinery, and ensuring adherence to safety standards while delivering reliable service to the store and customers.

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• 2 years’ experience in the plumbing trade.
• Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in good standing in the state of work.
• License in related trade in city and/or state of work.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the operation of a facility and maintains equipment and facilities.
• Performs preventive maintenance to ensure safety, function, and aesthetics of facilities and equipment.
• Diagnoses issues using manuals and parts catalogs; performs repairs and uses hand and power tools.
• Manages work orders, schedules, and contractors; tracks parts and expenses; submits warranty claims.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart quality and safety standards.
• Operates heavy machinery and vehicles safely; participates in on-call rotations to support critical needs.
