Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Journeyman Plumber for Facility Maintenance to perform plumbing, heating, and HVAC tasks across municipal facilities, pools, and parks. You will troubleshoot and repair fixtures, irrigation, boilers, water and gas supplies, and drainage systems.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, five years of journeyman experience (or an apprenticeship), plus CJIS background checks and Alaska licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Five years of journeyman plumber experience (which may include an apprenticeship or training program).
• Satisfactory background check including criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
• CJIS background check at time of hire.
• Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Record at time of hire.
• Alaska Department of Labor Certificate of Fitness - Journeyman Plumber.
• Municipality of Anchorage Plumbing License.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing and heating tasks for Facility Maintenance in facilities, pools, and parks across the Municipality, including troubleshooting and repairing fixtures, irrigation systems, pools, boilers, gas and water supply, and drain systems.
• Maintain HVAC systems, monitor, calibrate, and repair controls on electronic, pneumatic, and computerized systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
