Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Journeyman Plumber to perform plumbing and heating tasks across municipal facilities, pools, and parks. You will troubleshoot, repair fixtures, irrigation systems, boilers, gas and water supplies, and maintain HVAC controls to ensure reliable operations.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and five years of journeyman plumber experience, plus an Alaska license and CJIS background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of journeyman plumber experience or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
• Satisfactory CJIS background check at time of hire.
• Satisfactory background check including criminal, education, and employment history.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing and heating tasks in municipal facilities, pools, parks.
• Troubleshoot and repair fixtures, irrigation systems, boilers, and gas/water supplies.
• Maintain HVAC systems and calibrate electronic, pneumatic, and computerized controls.
• Other duties as assigned.
