Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring all assigned duties related to plumbing, daily quality control and safety activities, and facility housekeeping objectives are understood and followed, working under the general direction of the Field Supervisor or Crew Foreman. Acts as a resource and lead position for less experienced personnel.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Work in cooperation with other trades and laborers to meet all specifications, legislation, and policies for efficient project completion.
  • Plan ahead two weeks and order materials accordingly.
  • Connect tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form sewer, drain, and water lines.
  • Direct workers engaged in preassembly and installation of wall systems, such as risers, air chambers, and shower assemblies.
  • Select and insert precut pieces of copper tubing and fittings, connecting them using solder or torch to form drain and water lines.
  • Conduct weekly job safety meetings.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with owner/site supervisor/maintenance director.
  • Ensure all water supply networks and waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired, and maintained per building codes and safety standards.
  • Check subordinate timecards for accuracy.
  • Attend weekly jobsite meetings with GCs and coordinate with the site supervisor.
  • Inform the Field Supervisor of changes, emergencies, or issues within the department.
  • Keep the worksite clean and free of debris.
  • Maintain records of installations and repairs to comply with government and company requirements.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately.
  • Represent Capstone’s Mission, Vision, and Values in the marketplace.
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements

Two years of trade school or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

Required Certification/Licensure
  • State Driver’s License
  • Journeyman’s or Master’s license
Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience required.

Required Skills and Abilities

Basic math and computer skills, mechanically inclined; knowledge of construction disciplines; ability to read shop drawings; use of tools and equipment; ability to follow technical instructions; team-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Must be able to perform activities related to the role with accommodations as needed.
