Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring all assigned duties related to plumbing, daily quality control and safety activities, and facility housekeeping objectives are understood and followed, working under the general direction of the Field Supervisor or Crew Foreman. Acts as a resource and lead for less experienced personnel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Collaborate with other trades and laborers to meet all specifications, legislation, and policies for efficient project completion.
  • Plan ahead two weeks and order materials accordingly.
  • Connect tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form sewer, drain, and water lines.
  • Direct workers engaged in preassembly and installation of wall systems, such as risers, air chambers, and shower assemblies.
  • Insert precut copper tubing and fittings in holes and connect using solder or torch to form drain and water lines.
  • Conduct weekly job safety meetings.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with owners, site supervisors, and maintenance directors.
  • Ensure all water supply networks and drainage systems are installed, repaired, and maintained to meet building codes and safety standards.
  • Verify subordinate timecards for accuracy.
  • Attend weekly jobsite meetings with general contractors and coordinate with site supervisors.
  • Report to the Field Supervisor any changes, issues, or emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean worksite free of debris and trash.
  • Keep records of installations and repairs to comply with regulations and company procedures.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, utilizing basic math skills.
  • Represent Capstone’s Mission, Vision, and Values in the marketplace.
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements

Two years of trade school or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.

Required Certification/Licensure
  • State Driver’s License
  • Valid journeyman’s or Master’s license
Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience required.

Required Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in basic math and computer skills, mechanically inclined, with knowledge of construction disciplines. Ability to follow technical instructions, read shop drawings, and operate related equipment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
