PremiStar in Texas is seeking an experienced plumber to lead daily plumbing tasks, ensure quality control, and maintain safety standards across projects. You will guide junior crew members and collaborate with field supervisors.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, planning material orders, installing copper piping, and conducting weekly safety meetings. Strong knowledge of codes, tool operation, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • Two years of trade school or equivalent.
  • State Driver’s License; journeyman or Master license required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ plumbing experience.
  • Basic math, blueprint reading, and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specs to plan layouts.
  • Coordinate with trades to meet codes and safety.
  • Plan ahead two weeks and order materials.
  • Install and connect piping with solder and torch.
  • Lead preassembly and installation of wall systems.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintain records of installations and repairs.
  • Ensure site cleanliness and compliance with SOPs.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring all assigned duties related to plumbing, daily quality control and safety activities, and facility housekeeping objectives are understood and followed, working under general direction of the Field Supervisor or Crew Foreman. Acts as resource and lead position for less experienced personnel.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Reads blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
  • Works in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met, to ensure efficient completion of any project.
  • Plans ahead two weeks and orders materials accordingly.
  • Connects tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form sewer, drain, and water lines.
  • Directs workers engaged in preassembly and installation of wall systems, such as risers, air chambers, and shower assemblies.
  • Selects and inserts precut pieces of copper tubing and fittings in holes and connects tubing and fittings using solder paste, or solder and torch, to form drain and water lines.
  • Conducts weekly job safety meetings.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationship with owner/site supervisor/maintenance director.
  • Ensures all water supply networks and waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired, and maintained to meet all standards of building codes and safety.
  • Checks subordinate timecards for accuracy.
  • Attends weekly jobsite meetings with GC’s and coordinates with the GC’s site supervisor.
  • Informs Field Supervisor of changes, upset conditions or emergencies within the department.
  • Ensures worksite is kept clear and clean from debris and trash.
  • Keeps necessary records of installations and repairs performed on equipment to comply with government requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Completes all required paperwork using basic math skills as needed.
  • Represents Capstone’s Mission, Vision, and Values in company’s marketplace.
Job Requirements

Educational Requirements: Two years of trade school or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

Required Certification/Licensure:

  • State Driver’s License.
  • Required to hold a journeyman’s or Master’s license.

Experience Requirements: A Minimum Of 5 Years’ Experience Required.

Required Skills and Abilities: Basic math and computer skills, mechanically inclined; working knowledge, understanding and ability to comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures, including use of tools such as saws, cutting and solder torches, benders, welders, and other equipment and operation(s) of fork lift, man-lift or other vertical lifting equipment. Required to complete all required certifications and training for job level and show competency in assigned tasks under general supervision. General knowledge of construction disciplines. Ability to follow and understand technical instructions and specifications. Team oriented, flexible and able to work independently. Proficient at reading shop drawings and using all test equipment associated with troubleshooting installed equipment.
