Job Description:

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Journeyman Plumber. This position is responsible for general daily maintenance and operation on all aspects of facility plumbing systems in all facilities, including all plumbing repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintaining compliance with codes.

What you will do:

  1. Perform plumbing repairs and fixture replacements, cleaning of sewer lines and grease traps.
  2. Install and maintain water heaters, drain lines, and sewer lines.
  3. Coordinate and manage project schedules to minimize disruption or interference with daily operations.
  4. Maintain adequate training and valid State of Arkansas Plumbing License.
  5. Hold a valid State of Arkansas Boiler Certification.
  6. Supervise all plumbing contractors working on site/campus.
  7. Maintain compliance for ADA, City of Bentonville, Benton County, and State of Arkansas code requirements.
  8. Assist in maintaining files for mandatory training, certificates, and yearly maintenance schedules.
  9. Assist in preventative maintenance schedules for all plumbing systems.
  10. Assist in local, state, and insurance inspections for regulatory compliance.
  11. Assist with the safety program, monitoring compliance with applicable building and safety codes, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, hazardous materials, etc.
  12. May be required to participate in the on-call rotation, after hours work, or emergency calls involving facility needs.

Qualifications required for your success:

  1. Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
  2. Effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  3. 5+ years of experience in working with plumbing systems.
  4. Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
  5. Willingness and ability to learn specialized software.
  6. Effectively use a variety of hand/power tools and can operate standard equipment and machinery; forklifts, extension/scissor lifts, vehicles/carts/trailers.
  7. Ability to multi-task and think critically in a busy work environment.
  8. Enthusiastic about being a team member at a major community center.
  9. Working knowledge of principles and practices of federal, state, and local law, code, and regulations applicable to the work, including regulations applicable to safe work practices and procedures.
  10. Highest ethics as they relate to all aspects of business.
  11. Troubleshooting/ analyzing systems and recognizing potential safety hazards– Problem Solving Skills.
  12. Ability to learn our centralized maintenance management system.
  13. Ability to work independently and with initiative.
  14. Must be physically and mentally fit to respond to emergency situations.
  15. Excellent customer service skills that are based on courtesy, respect, and approachability.

Physical demands and work environment:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Physical demands: Position requires utilizing a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of time. This position also requires an individual to be physically active and capable of lifting/carrying 75 pounds. This position requires good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity in this role is essential. Your role will require walking, equipment operation, use of a ladder/lift and occasionally encounter working from heights, etc.

Work environment: Position is full-time. Work will be performed in a public setting, inside an office environment and outside in the weather/elements. The noise level is low to moderate and equipment operation may lead to higher levels for extended times. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, on call, and evenings may be necessary to support operational needs. Work environment may include exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals. Capable of performing other duties as assigned.
