Responsibilities include coordinating with field crews, setting up welds, laying out piping, and ensuring production standards and safety requirements are met. Physical stamina and ability to work overtime or outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with field experience.
• Strong working knowledge for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, layout tools and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work.
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld set up, fit piping and perform welds with high precision.
• Lay-out and assemble pipes according to production standards, quality, safety, and specifications.
• Make welding repairs and address substandard welds.
• Assist with Pre-Fabrication layout or installation coordination.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine and other industry tools.
• Estimate sizes, distances and quantities needed for work activities.
• Inspect subordinates' work for contract compliance and quality.
