Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, layout and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work.
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld set up, fit piping and perform high-precision welds.
• Lay-out and assemble pipes according to production standards and specs.
• Make welding repairs and fix substandard welds.
• Assist with Pre-Fabrication layout or installation coordination.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine and other industry tools.
• Estimate sizes, distances and quantities for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance and correct deficiencies.
