Job summary

Friendsofkerhonkson seeks a skilled painter with journey-level expertise to perform interior and exterior painting, drywall finishing, and flooring prep in buildings and facilities. You will prep surfaces, match colors, apply primers and sealers, and complete refinishing tasks as needed.

The role requires a valid California driver's license, at least five years of related experience, and the ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational training or the equivalent experience.
• Valid Driver’s License Required.
• Clean Driving Record Required.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Thorough journey level knowledge and skill in painting crafts.
• Journey level skill in maintenance and repair procedures.
• Knowledge of building codes, rules and regulations.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on interior finishes; match paint colors/finishes of walls, ceilings and floors.
• Assist with estimating, material takeoffs, project specifications, and maintaining files of specs/blueprints.
• Assist with updating as-built drawings.
• Inspect buildings, facilities and equipment to identify repairs or alterations needed.
• Apply primers, sealers and various paints (oil, latex, etc.).
• Prepare joints with cement and tape on sheetrock surfaces.
• Prepare parking areas for striping and apply painted lines.
• Prepare and finish surfaces; apply finish products with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
