Job summary

Southern Careers Institute in Brownsville, TX is seeking an Instructor - Electrical Technician for full or part-time day or evening shifts. No teaching experience is required; candidates must be able to commute or reside in the city.

You will deliver course materials, adhere to policies, maintain student records, and contribute to curriculum development while helping students train and place successfully.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an Electrician.
• Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License issued by the Texas Department Licensing and Regulation.
• Experience with installation and repair of commercial and residential electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver course materials and instruction for all programs to prepare students for the workplace.
• Adhere to institutional educational policies and procedures.
• Maintain student records and participate in curriculum development and revision.
• Aid students in achieving their goal of training and placement and deliver a Student First experience.

• Responsible for delivery of all course materials and instruction for academic programs offered by the institution, to prepare the student for the workplace;
• Is knowledgeable of and adheres to all institutional educational policies and procedures;
• Maintain student records and participate in curriculum development and revision;
• SCI instructors have the primary responsibility of aiding our students in the achievement of their goal (i.e. to be trained and placed), and delivering a Student First experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an Electrician;
• Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License (issued by Texas Department Licensing and Regulation);
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency with installation and repair on all types of commercial and residential electrical systems.
