Job summary

WestRock Company in Longview, WA is actively seeking a Journey-level Millwright to maintain, repair, and improve equipment across our pulp and paper processes. The role requires reading blueprints, performing welding, and using precision tools while working with management, engineering, and vendors to optimize machinery.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, an apprenticeship or related education, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance as a Journey-level Millwright.
• Formal apprenticeship or education preferred.
• Experience welding carbon and stainless steel.
• Self-motivated, results driven, able to work independently.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and operate moderately complex software/web-based programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer-focused and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures and assemble/dismantle/overhaul machinery.
• Perform welding as needed (carbon & stainless steel).
• Use precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Maintenance and repair of equipment in pulp and paper processes.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
