Job summary

Smurfit Westrock’s pulp and paper mill in Longview, WA is actively seeking a journey-level Millwright to join our maintenance team. You will read blueprints, dismantle and overhaul machinery, and work with precision tools to support pulp and paper production.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3+ years in industrial maintenance as a Millwright, and welding experience. Training and advancement are emphasized in a safety-conscious, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance as a journey-level Millwright; pulp and paper mill experience a plus.
• Formal apprenticeship or education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to determine procedures and assemble, dismantle, and overhaul machinery using hand and power tools.
• Perform welding of carbon and stainless steel as needed.
• Use precision tools (veneer calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, levels, gauge blocks, optical/laser alignment tooling).
• Maintain, repair, and improve equipment related to pulp and paper processes.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
