Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Covington Mill is seeking a Maintenance Journeyman Millwright in Covington, VA to support the maintenance and repair of machines and equipment throughout the mill. Successful applicants will complete training in a second craft and may assist other crafts as assigned.

Position requires Virginia State approved Journeyman certification or equivalent and a readiness to participate in safety programs.

• Virginia State approved Journeyman certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all department safety programs.
• Flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contribute to team results.
• Understand equipment lubrication types and applications.
• Troubleshoot effectively to restore equipment.
• Read and understand equipment manuals and drawings.
• Document repairs and inspections accurately.
• Use computer systems to lookup materials, enter work results, and complete work orders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques.
• Measure, lay out, and fabricate repair parts.
