Job summary

Georgia-Pacific’s Clatskanie, OR location is hiring a Journeyman Millwright. Starting pay is $48.45 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, HSA, short-term disability, 401k with match, paid vacation after 90 days, and advancement opportunities.

As part of a high-speed tissue and paper products operation, you will perform preventive maintenance, alignments, pump rebuilds, and safety-focused tasks across a noisy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman Millwright with experience in precision maintenance.
• 4 years of industrial maintenance mechanical experience.
• Experience in the Pulp & Paper Industry.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Industrial maintenance (bearings set-up, opti-laser alignment, pump rebuilds, mounting/unmounting).
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of industrial equipment.
• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Keep work area clean before, after, and during shift.
• Maintain safety guards and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
• Perform tasks such as lifting and climbing for long shifts in a loud environment.

What You Will Do

• Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks
• Industrial maintenance (bearings set-up, opti-laser alignment, pump rebuilds, mounting and unmounting)
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of industrial equipment
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Keep work area clean before, after, and throughout shift
• Maintain all safety guards on equipment and following all lock out/tag out procedures to promote a safe working environment for all employees
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High school diploma or GED
• Journeyman Millwright with experience executing precision maintenance functions
• 4 years of industrial maintenance mechanical experience
• Experience in the Pulp & Paper Industry
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with Reliability/Precision maintenance
• Experience in two of the following trades: Industrial Millwright, Welder, Pipefitter, Machinist, etc
• Experience using a computer to generate, distribute and maintain maintenance records
• An Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Certificate from an accredited vocational/community college with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience
• Completion of an approved maintenance mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent with 2 or more years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial manufacturing environment
