Job summary

Polk County seeks a skilled technician for journey level maintenance and repair of automotive and road maintenance vehicles. You will fabricate metal parts for shop projects and may back-up bridge welding as needed.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and four years of journey level experience, plus tools and certifications. A valid Oregon drivers license is required, with CDL possible within six months.

Qualifications

• Four years of journey level experience in the repair, modification, and maintenance of light and heavy equipment.
• Own hand tools suitable for work performed.
• Valid Oregon drivers license on appointment.
• Must obtain an Oregon CDL within 6 months.
• Must possess and maintain AWS Welding D1.5 certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs journey level maintenance and repairs to automotive, emergency, and road maintenance vehicles and equipment.
• Provides metal fabrication for shop fabricated items.
• May serve as back-up for bridge welding.
