Job summary

George Speers Masonry LLC is seeking journeyman masons to lay block and brick to line and to run grouted structural CMU per structural schedules. Safe-room work is a plus and accuracy on plan production is essential.

George Speers Masonry is a self-performing commercial masonry contractor working Tallahassee to Pensacola: structural CMU, brick veneer, grouted and reinforced walls, safe rooms. Built on integrity. Delivering excellence.

Role Description

Two tracks. Journeyman masons: lay block and brick to a line, run grouted structural CMU off structural schedules; safe-room work a plus.

Week one: clock in daily, lay or tend per plan, report walls and courses completed each day, PPE and scaffold discipline always, equipment issues reported same day. One hard rule: nobody changes a mix or takes direction from anyone but GSM.

Proving yourself is simple: production against plan, first-pass inspections, and a show rate we can build a schedule around.

Our process: short phone call, in-person interview, then a PAID working test - masons build a corner and run a lead to a line; Finalists get a paid three-day trial, then an offer with a 30-day scorecard. Pros like getting paid to prove it. Pay: competitive, DOE.
