Job summary

PBG delivers mission-focused solutions to federal agencies, seeking a Journeyman Management Analyst to support financial planning, budget execution, and operational reporting for a federal program office.

The role provides hands-on analytical and coordination support across funds management, KPI reporting, and financial data system maintenance under senior analysts and program leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in a management analyst, budget analyst, or financial/program support role
  • Working knowledge of federal budget and financial management concepts and terminology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; working familiarity with Microsoft Access or similar database/reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring reporting deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain required clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support financial planning activities, including tracking of multi-fiscal-year spend plans and assisting with redistribution and reconciliation of program funds
  • Assist in preparing monthly statistical reports, KPI reports, and other operational metrics for program leadership
  • Support maintenance and periodic updates of financial tracking databases and reporting systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinate with budget, financial management, and program staff to support cost performance tracking and reporting cycles
  • Assist with data calls, ad hoc analysis requests, and the preparation of supporting documentation for financial and programmatic reviews
  • Help track obligations, commitments, and expenditures against approved budgets, flagging discrepancies for review
  • Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement of reporting workflows and templates

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or public administration
2-4 years professional experience in management analyst/budget analyst/financial program support
Strong written and verbal communication
Attention to detail and ability to meet recurring reporting deadlines
MS Excel proficiency; familiarity with Access or similar tools
Federal budgeting and financial management concepts
Power BI or data visualization tools
Government funds control processes (obligations, commitments, accruals)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Journeyman Management Analyst to support financial planning, budget execution, and operational reporting functions for a federal program office. This role provides hands‑on analytical and coordination support across funds management, statistical and performance reporting, and financial data system maintenance, working under the direction of senior analysts and program leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support financial planning activities, including tracking of multi-fiscal-year spend plans and assisting with the redistribution and reconciliation of program funds

  • Familiarity with government funds control processes (obligations, commitments, accruals)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization/reporting tools
  • Exposure to interagency agreements (IAAs) or working capital fund (WCF) billing and reporting processes
