Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Downtown Campus seeks a Maintenance Worker III to perform journeyman-level maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting tasks. The role ensures compliance with specifications and safety regulations, maintains records and reports on projects.

Responsibilities include supervising junior staff, inspecting work, and supporting after-hours maintenance.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, vocational training, or apprenticeship in a related field.
Five years of related work experience.
Ability to maintain UT San Antonio security and infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

Provides journeyman-level maintenance and repair work of plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
Performs installation and repair of electrical motors, switches, circuit breakers, outlets, fixtures and accessories; plumbing in new construction or remodeling; staining and refinishing furniture; and other carpentry work.
Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications; maintains daily records; cross-trains with shops; reports needs for repairs to supervisors.
Submits reports on status and costs of maintenance projects.
Serves in an on-call maintenance capacity to support after-hours and weekend needs.
Provides supervision, guidance and training to maintenance workers I and II.
